The u7s are away at Datchworth this Sunday, 3 December, and play for the Charlie Morris Trophy against Datchworth and Welwyn.
This is a traditional fixture, a memorial fixture to one of our local characters who was instrumental in introducing mini rugby to Datchworth RFC some years in advance of it taking off elsewhere, including Hitchin.
The trophy is won by the club who scores most tries on the day, and all teams tries count. The trophy is held by Hitchin and it would be good to retain it!
I expect to run one, possibly two teams depending on the numbers attending, and all players attending will get a game. Please get to Datchworth for 10.00 a.m. at the latest so the team can be warmed up and briefed for the first game.
Parking is usually behind the village hall in a field, with a five minute walk to the pitches. If its been raining, it will be very muddy so be prepared.
Players should wear Maroon shirts an socks, and white shorts. Please also bring the following:
*Gum shields
*Boots with safe studs
*Shin pads
*Drinks
*Water proof and warm clothing
There will also be training for the u6's commencing at 10:30 am, as usual with Tarby, at Hitchin RFC.
If you haven't received Christmas draw tickets then see me as I have some spare.
See you Sunday
