Herts U16s selected for England squad

« Fullerians 25 v Hitchin 0 | Main | Luton U16 14 v Hithin U16 33 »

Five of this season’s successful Hertfordshire Under 16s have been included in the England development squad that will meet at the end of January.

Owen Farrell (St George’s and Harpenden RFC), Jamie George (Haileybury College and Hertford RFC), Bill Lake (Watford Grammar) and Jake Sharp (Sheredes and Saracens) all impressed the selectors at the recent Divisional Festival, when they represented London and the South East.

Bill’s twin brother, Wilf, who missed the festival, has also been named in the squad. Wilf and Liam Dolan (Ashlyns School) have both been chosen to play for the division against the Midlands – this match takes place on the same weekend as the national squad’s get-together.

And just to show the strength of Hertfordshire rugby at this level, Gary Baker (Hitchin Boys and Hitchin RFC) will play for the South West in their game against the North!

Not bad for one of the smallest counties! Good luck to all of the lads.
