U8 Reports Open Day

| Welcome to U7s »
With the “Summer” almost over (some would say it ended in June) it is time to start thinking about Rugby. With the World Cup fast approaching it is time to get the players enthused once more into the game of Rugby. Last season ended on a real high with a magnificent performance at the St. Neots Festival and then the U7’s being awarded Hitchin Junior Team of the Year
This was then tempered by the sad news of the loss of last years Head Coach Gary. With this in mind it was felt that the U8’s would benefit from as much continuity as possible so the following changes were made:
Eric Lanyon (Dad of Harry L and the one which encouraged our players in such a positive way last year) has offered to become Head Coach.
Mark Donougher (Dad of Harry D) has offered to assist Eric in the role of coach.
Chris Willoughby (Dad of Elliot) has indicated that he is also willing to help with coaching although I haven't managed to get firm commitment as yet.
Simon Pritchard (Dad of Alex) has been appointed Team Manager.
Jill McCracken (Mum of Sam) has offered to write the match reports and the vital task of recording all the tries
I have mentioned some of the parents of the players, however we are planning to include as many parents as possible, as we feel that it is important (for both ourselves and our children) that we get involved as much as possible.
The plan for the start of the season is to coach the U8's with the U7's (Head Coach; Andy Dudley) in order to lesson the impact of a change of set up on the players and also that initially the U8's will be short of players (10 at last count).
I know that there are quite a few players taking part in the Socious Rugby course in Letchworth at the end of the summer and we thought it might be worthwhile to get as many players together as possible on the Sunday prior to the course (26th August) at the usual time of 10.30.
Please feel free to contact me if you want to discuss anything further or have any suggestions.
Hopefully see you all on the 26th August, if not then on the 2nd September.
Simon
