| Teams Selected for Saturday 15th September »
I was astounded by the turnout on Sunday (not sure if you noticed!) and I really hope that your children enjoyed themselves. It is wonderful to see so many smiling faces having fun and learning a new skill. Long may it continue!
Player of the Week
As mentioned the previous week, I will be awarding a ‘Player of the Week’ award to the child who has made the biggest contribution to the session. This week, I chose Sam Henshaw to receive the trophy for several reasons. In the last two weeks he has listened well and always paid attention to whatever is being said as well as showing good passing, catching and tagging skills. This week he also played really well when he was mixed with the more experienced U7s and U8s in a game situation. Well done Sam!
Letchworth Festival
With the Open Day behind us, we are now looking forwards to the Letchworth Festival on 30 September 2007 (approximate timings are 9am til 12.30pm, dependent on how well we do!!) As I mentioned on Sunday, if your child is 6 years old and has registered with the club and the RFU, then they can play. Please can you let me know, if not already, if your child is interested by Sunday 16 September at the very latest. For those that are not able to play, I also plan to have someone run a session at the club.
Rugby attire
The kit list for a Hitchin Hedgehog is as follows:
Hitchin rugby shirt available at the club shop
Black rugby shorts available at the club shop or any sport retailer
Maroon rugby socks available at the club shop or any sport retailer
Rugby boots available at any sport retailer
Also, please remember to bring along a drink for your child every Sunday.
Tour
Every year the minis go on tour and this year is no exception. The dates are Friday 21 – Monday 24 March 2008 with the venue being the PGL Activity Center at Claythorpe Court, near Grantham. Places are going fast, so if you are interested, please contact Jill McCracken (mum to Sam in the U8s) on andy.mccracken@ntlworld.com
Internet
I will be posting information most weeks on the website, in the U7 section, to inform you all of the plans for the following week, so please check this regularly for updates.
This Sunday
Unfortunately I am not able to run the coaching session however I will leave you in the very capable hands of Adrian Pomfret (dad to Holly in the U7s), who has several years coaching experience.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate contact me. Otherwise I hope you all have a fantastic day on Sunday and I’ll see you all on 23rd September.
Regards
