With much of the discussion on Sunday about the "try", feet were however, firmly back on the ground (or were they in touch?)
With depleted numbers this week due to half term, training this week was based mainly on having a game, with some of the warm ups we did when we visited Harpenden. We just need to ensure that we put the ball down with both hands at all time.
The game we played was fast moving, lots of scores with some excellent support play and not that many errors. Well done! We also had a couple of games of bulldog, with Chris, Jon and myself catching. I am suffering today from all my exercise!
Next week we at home against St. Neots. Please arrive at 10.00 so we can tag up and warm up in time. Plan is to put out 2 teams. Hopefully St. Neots will bring 2 teams as well. Please let me know your availability if you haven't already done so. Can you also let me have your availability for the following week, when we are away at Ampthill, as again we would like to put out two sides.
After the match there is a bit of a Halloween theme going on. Please check the website for more details.
If anyone is interested in getting more involved in the coaching, the Club will pay for you to do some courses. There is a "Tag" course in Welwyn on Monday 29th October and a "Start" rugby course at Old Verulanians on Monday 12th November. Having done both of these myself they are both good fun and informative and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them. please let me know if you are interested and I will pass the details on to you. I know that Jon (Dad of Jordan) did the SAQ course at the club last Saturday and found this very informative. Hopefully he can bring some of his learning's into the next training weekend we have.
