We had a good training session this week, so well done to all the players. A big thank you to Rob, Andy, Jez and the other parents who helped out during the session.

Congratulations go to George Lanyon who won the ‘Player of the Week’ award. George showed good evasion and tagging skills in the Rugby IT and Scarecrow Tag sessions and also performed really well in the game situation, especially as he is one of the younger members of the squad. He also paid attention and listened throughout the session, which is helping him improve as a player.

Next week there is training at the club usual time 10.30am. I unfortunately am unable to be there but Tom Honnywill will be running the session. We are short of a few coaches this week so can I ask if some parents could help during the session.

The following week Sunday 28th October we have a home fixture against St. Neots. As mentioned on Sunday we will be running two teams for this fixture. I have had a great response from players regarding their availability, which is good to see, but I can only pick a maximum of 16 players to ensure players have a good amount of game time each. Therefore, the following players have been selected for this fixture: - Ethan Brace, Dylan Crofton, Connor Dudley, Rory Fookes, Rees Harper, Sam Henshaw, Laurence Hidle, Guy Honnywill, Harry Hughes, George Lanyon, Ethan Lavaille, Ben Lowes, Euan Metcalfe, Holly Pomfret, Noamh Taylor, Henry Tucker. Those players not selected will get their chance at other fixtures.

Can all players be at the club for 10.00am on Sunday 28th October. All players will need to be registered with the club by this weekend in order for them to play in this fixture. For those players who have not played matches before, players will need to be in full Hitchin kit (Hitchin jersey, black shorts & maroon socks), gum shields and shin guards are also recommended. More information about this fixture will be posted on the website next week.

I am also pleased to let you know that we can also take two teams to Ampthill for the fixture on Sunday 4th November. The players for this fixture will be selected next week. If you have not advised me about your availability for this fixture please do so by Tuesday 23rd October so I can make the necessary plans.
