Our second league game of the season was a real heart stopper. Hitchin were

confident after winning their las two matches and went into this game with great expectations.

Unfortunately, we were a bit asleep and Ealing went into a 5 - 0 lead. However, we fought back well but just couldn't get past the high tackles that were being put in. Chris T got over and touched doen on the try line but by the time the referee got there the ball had been pushed forward by an Ealing player. Ealing then scored again and we were 10 - 0 down. Hitchin came back strongly and a try in the corner by Steven P

was the least they deserved. Hitchin 5 Ealing 10 at half time.

The second started and Hitchin came out of the blocks and stormed in a second try, scored by Aleks B. This was converted by Andrew M and Hitchin had a 12 - 10 lead. Lack of discipline in the Ealing side meant a couple of

sin binnings for their players but Hitchin failed to capitalise and Ealing scored two more unconverted tries. Hitchin, however fought back and with two minutes left Steven M went under the posts to score & Andrew M made no mistake with the conversion. Hitchin 19 - Ealing 20 with just under two minutes left. Alas, it was not to be a glorious second win and the last two

minutes Hitchin had the possession but could not capitalise and Ealing were victorious. Still, we did get a point for losing by less than seven points
