It was back to training on Sunday after the last two weekends of fixtures and it was great to see the continued high turnout with over 40 players again. We looked at some specific areas in the session, which were tagging and support play and I was pleased with how the morning progressed. A big thank you to Adrian, Rob, Jez, Gordon and Martin, who helped out during the session.

Congratulations go to Ethan Lavaille who won the ‘Player of the Week’ award. Ethan worked hard throughout the session, always paying attention, listening and taking on board the points we were trying to emphasis on tagging and support play. He did well in the specific support task I ran with the more experienced players and he performed well in the match played at the end.

This week Sunday 18th November we have a home fixture against Cambridge and we are able to field two teams. Again I have had a good response from players regarding availability, but unfortunately I can not play everyone. The following two teams have been selected:-

HITCHIN PANTHERS - Alex Baber-Norris, Ethan Brace, Connor Dudley, Rory
Fookes, Sam Henshaw, Guy Honnywill, Holly Pomfret and Naomh Taylor.

HITCHIN JAGUARS - Alfie Canon, Dylan Crofton, Frank Hayward, Laurence Hidle, Chris Holes, Harry Hughes, Ethan Lavaille, Euan Metcalfe, Felix Talbot and Henry Tucker.

Can all players be at the club for 10.00am. For those players who have not played matches before, players will need to be in full Hitchin kit (Hitchin jersey, black shorts & maroon socks), gum shields and shin guards are also recommended. If for any reason you are unable to play please let me know.

Please note for those players not selected for this fixture there will unfortunately NOT be any training at the club. The next training session will be Sunday 25th November.

As you can appreciate, with such a large squad of players it is not possible for all players to play every week. We are aiming to get two teams out for each fixture, but this does depend on the opposition clubs. However, the club are trying to arrange some extra fixtures for us which will give players more opportunities to play in matches. Therefore if you have not been selected for this weeks match there should be other opportunities for you in the coming weeks.
