Fine words from Eric below.....

Coach's Comments
Another good training session on Sunday, with the players 'back for more' contact; not sure though who was keenest with the U8s in the play park and the parents already pitch side waiting for the 'blows' to begin!
Thanks 'Sheriff Chris' for rounding them up!!
We split the session, initially working on the front tackle, progressing to the side tackle.
There was lots of effort from everyone and all the coaches felt you've 'nailed' these tackles - well done.
Remember, always go as low as you can by bending your knees, so your SHOULDER TARGETS the BOTTOM OF THE SHORTS.
Also, always keep your head BEHIND the ball carrier; CHEEK TO CHEEK.
Finally to prevent loose boots in your face, WRAP ARMS and hang on tight (RING OF STEEL.)
Not forgetting we have a 'tag' match this Sunday (against Old Albanians) we then worked on defending in our CHANNELS. Remember to let the attacker come to you, in your channel, it's then easier to get the tag.
You're all really developing well and I'm looking forward to this week's challenge against one of the top sides in Hertfordshire.
Player of the Week this week has been coming for some time as he has every element of the game; great pace, a neat sidestep; strong positional awareness and determination when tagging. His performances every time he plays make a real difference to the LIONS and it's just been a matter of time before he received this award. This week he showed the same determination with tackling and considering he missed most of last week's session as he didn't feel too well I was really impressed with his development - well done Jordan Charter - very well deserved!!
See you Sunday
Eric
