Team News & Selection 17th Feb

« Selection 9 Feb | Main | OA's Sunday 17th Feb »

A good training session on Sunday and another very good turnout especially considering it was half term with over 40 players attending. The first part of the session we continued to work on the 1 v 1 & 2 v 1 situations from last week and I was pleased to see the players improvement as the session went on. The last part we split the group, with the older experienced players having a match to prepare for this weeks fixture and the younger less experienced players having some 3 v 3 or 4 v 4 small sided games. It was an excellent morning and I was really pleased with all the players efforts. Thanks to Tom, Rob, Brian, Jez and Gordon for their help during the session.

Congratulations goes to Alfie Cannon who won the ‘Player of the Week’ award. I was particularly pleased with Alfie’s efforts throughout the whole session. He always gives 100%, was concentrating during the specific drills we were working on, and I was impressed with his strong running and tagging during the 1 v 1 and 2 v 1 exercises. He also performed well in the practice match at the end of the session.

SUNDAY 17TH FEBRUARY

This week, Sunday 17th February we have an away fixture at Old Albanians. The following teams have been selected for this fixture, can all players meet at Old Albanians at 10.00am:-

HITCHIN PANTHERS

HITCHIN JAGUARS
Alfie Cannon, Dylan Crofton, Laurence Hidle, Daniel Hill, Chris Holes, Harry Hughes, George Lanyon, Kai Prpa and Henry Tucker.

Unfortunately I can not select all players for this fixture and due to the nature of the opposition the more experienced players have been selected. Those players not involved in this fixture will hopefully get an opportunity the following week.

SUNDAY 24TH FEBRAURY
