| Sunday 4th May »
It was an excellent morning on Sunday as we held our own mini U7 festival. We separated the players into six teams and each team played five matches as they played each other in a round robin basis. All the players participated, even the younger U6 players and it was a thoroughly enjoyable morning. Well done to all the players for their commitment and effort during the morning and I hope you all enjoyed yourselves. Congratulations go to the TIGERS who came out on top – they were unbeaten during the morning, winning 4 and drawing 1 of their five matches, although the CHEETAHS pushed them close. Thanks to Adrian and Rob for refereeing the matches with me and also thanks to Jez, Brian, Gordon, Martin, Andy & Helen who helped run the teams.
We held a similar session before Christmas and it was great to see the improvement in the players, some of the rugby played on Sunday was excellent. There were some very good performances from the experienced U7 players, but I was also impressed with the contributions of some of the younger and less experienced players. ‘Player of the Week’ was again a tough choice, but congratulations goes to Euan Metcalfe who won the award. Euan is one of our new players and has only played in a few matches this year, but I was really impressed with his performance. He made some strong runs with the ball, scored some good tries and contributed to the Tigers success during the morning. Euan always shows a great amount of effort, he always concentrates and listens both in matches and training and it is clear to see the improvement he has made through the season.
SUNDAY 27TH APRIL
This Sunday we are taking one team to the St. Neots Festival (Panthers) and we will have two teams to play at home against Letchworth (Jaguars & Leopards), please see details below:-

Letchworth Fixture
The following two teams have been selected for the Letchworth fixture. Can all players be at the club for 10.00am. If any player is unable to play please can you let me know.
I will be at St. Neots on Sunday, therefore Brian and Jez will be looking after the teams for this home fixture, with the help of Gordon & Andy. Letchworth will be bringing two sides, so each team will get two or three matches.

HITCHIN LEOPARDS
Oskar Bhowmick, Joshua Clark, Theo Collins, Corgan Dowle, Ben Guest, Harry Laing, Ben Lowes, Jamie Naylor, Gregory Oram-Brown, Alexander Smith and Ben Tossell.
Please note there is no training at the club this week, Sunday 27th April.
SUNDAY 4TH MAY
Sunday 4th May is the finale to the season. This will start at 10.30am with the Founders Cup Competition. This is a TAG festival for all the mini age groups (U7's to U12's). Teams are mixed and each team is made up of at least one player from each age group. All players are welcome to play, even the younger U6 players in our squad. If any player wishes to play in this festival (and you have not advised me already), please let me know by Friday 25th April as I need to inform the club how many of our players will be attending. All players need to register between 9.30-10.00am on the day.
Around 12pm, after the festival there will be the presentation of awards and BBQ. Unfortunately due to my work commitments I will not be there however you will be left in the capable hands of Helen. This is a really enjoyable day and it would be great to see as many players and parents there as possible.
