« County 7's Volunteers (sunday 11th may) | Main | The last for at least 3 months....... »

For those of you who attended the final session of the season on Sunday, I hope you all enjoyed yourselves. We had a good turnout of players and well done to Naomh and Milly who were part of the "Shillington Team" who won the Founders Cup festival.

After the festival we had the end of season awards, where all players received a momento from the club for playing this year and the following awards were presented.

Runners Up - Ethan Brace & Naomh Taylor
Most Improved Player

Top Try Scorer

Runner Up - Connor Dudley

Congratulations goes to the above players, but I would like to say a big well done to all the players for their effort, commitment and performances throughout the season. I would also like to thank Adrian, Tom, Rob, Brian, Jez, Martin, Gordon and Andy for all their help during the training sessions and on match days. I would also like to thank Jo for her help scoring and of course a big thank you to Helen for all her help and support each week (especially on Sunday & on tour when she looked after things in my absence). If you were unable to attend on Sunday, please see Helen at the start of next season on the Open Day to collect your momento's (unless I see you over the summer).

This has been our first season together and I am very pleased with how things have gone. We have put in some very good performances through the season and it is great to see the improvement all the players have made. The Panthers only lost 5 matches all season, which was a great acheivement, especially as those defeats were only by the odd score. The Jaguars also had some great results and considering a number of their fixtures were against A teams, they did remarkably well. We even mixed up our teams for a number of fixtures and still came away with some very good results, which is a testiment to the strong squad we are starting to develop. A summary of the seasons results are below:-

Seasons Results:
Panthers - Played 41, Won 27, Lost 5, Drew 9
Jaguars - Played 28, Won 12, Lost 10, Drew 6
Overall - Played 69, Won 39, Lost 15, Drew 15 (56% win ratio)

For those players who played in the end of season festivals, there were photographers at these events and their photos can be seen at the following websites. Helen has also taken some photos through the season and we will get them either posted up on the website or sent out by email shortly. Tring Festival - www.freezeframeevents.co.uk (click on the gallery on top banner, then click on tring tag) St. Neots Festival - www.dephotos.co.uk

Now its time for a well earned rest !!!!

However, if the players would like some more rugby, I can thoroughly recommend the SOCIOUS SPORTS RUGBY SUMMER CAMPS www.socioussports.com , which were mentioned in the newsletter last week. Connor attended one last summer and had a great time. If any parent is interested please let me know or contact Simon Pritchard (U8's manager, simon.pritchard@dsl.pipex.com ) who is coordinating bookings from the club. The nearest venue is at Letchworth Rugby Club, week beginning 11th August and currently Connor, Ethan Brace and Harry Hughes are already booked on.

I hope you all have a great summer and I will see you all at the start of next season.

Regards
