Sporting Exhibition at Hitchin Museum

From 12 July to end August the Museum is putting on an exhibition
recording and making accessible the history and information about local
sports clubs, through oral history, objects and displays. The rugby club
will feature, and has lent memorabilia and photographs etc. to support the venture

The aim is to engage local sports clubs and their members in promoting themselves, though a major sports exhibition at Hitchin Museum, as well as a touring exhibition programme. The exhibition content will be by the clubs themselves. This will be professionally designed and displayed by the Museum Service with an external design company.

Part of the exhibition will consist of exhibition panels with content produced and chosen by the clubs, as well as promotional material to encourage membership and active participation.
