Hitchin Rugby club are delighted to be the hosts of the Royal Anglian Regimental Memorial Rugby match at Old Hale Way Hitchin this Saturday (13th September 2008).
The Regimental Rugby Memorial match is an annual event held to remember the regiments’ fallen comrades and raise funds for the regimental benevolence fund. This year the Royal Anglian Rugby team will be taking on Hitchin Rugby Club, in what promises to be a fun filled afternoon. The Royal Anglian Regimental Memorial match is a premier event within the Regiment and always brings a large crowd of supporters.
The ceremonies will begin at 14:15 which will include the roll of honour and the playing of the last post. The match kicks off 14:30 and should be finished by around 16:00.
To support the occasion, there will be food and drink available throughout the day and everyone can expect a warm welcome from this community-orientated club. The clubhouse will remain open all evening for more fun and festivities as there will be a Raffle to raise money for the Regimental benevolence fund.
Directions to the clubhouse can be found at http://hitchinrfrc.com/directions.html.
On the Sunday the 14th the club is hosting its Mini and Junior’s open day, open to anyone aged 6 to 17 and their parents. Last year we had over 300 attend and are looking to build on those numbers again this year. We have the first mini and youth section to be established in the country and are focused on providing a fun and enjoyable environment for all abilities to learn and enjoy the great game of rugby. This all kicks off at 10am and once again the clubhouse will be open for parents to mingle in as well.
