Well done to all the players, parents and coaches that braved the weather at training on Sunday. A big thank you to Rob, Tom, Martin & Andy who took the session in my absence and by all accounts we had a good turnout and the players performed well during the morning.

Congratulations goes to Guy Honnywill who won ‘Player of the Week’. Rob was impressed with Guy this week as he applied himself throughout the whole session, showed good skills considering the conditions and performed well in the match situation. In particular Guy did very well in the passing & handling drills. His passing was excellent and he was regularly running onto the pass as the support player and taking the ball on the move, which is something we have been trying to develop to speed up our attacking play.

Sunday 12 October

This Sunday we have a home fixture against Datchworth. As previously mentioned, we will be fielding two teams for this fixture, which have been selected as below: -

HITCHIN COUGARS
Alex Baber-Norris, Connor Dudley, Daniel Hill, Chris Holes, Sam Humphrey, Kai Prpa, Milly Reece-Jones, Ciaran Sale & Henry Tucker.

HITCHIN JAGUARS
Ethan Brace, Alfie Cannon, Dylan Crofton, Rory Fookes, Sam Henshaw, Laurence Hidle, Guy Honnywill, Ethan Lavialle & Holly Pomfret.

Important Note: Due to the size of our squad I am unfortunately unable to select all players for this fixture. Therefore in addition to the matches with Datchworth we will also be running some training matches on Sunday for those players unfortunately not selected above and for the new players who have recently joined the squad. These training matches are very important to the development of the squad so I would like to see as many players as possible at the club on Sunday. All players need to be at the club for 10.00am, we will have a warm up and then start the matches promptly at 10.30am.

Membership

If any player has not completed their membership forms can you please do so and return them with the necessary payment as soon as possible. Any new players who have just joined please can you see Sam Ridgewell, Membership Secretary about registering with the club & the RFU (she is always in the clubhouse on a Sunday morning). Please note, I would like to play some of our new players in our next set of fixtures at the end of the month, but I can only do this if you are registered.
