A performance to be proud of. Great fighting spirit against a very well organised opposition (40 training every Tuesday!) and in atrocious conditions. A drier pitch and fewer injuries it could have been different - the fact that none of the injured actually wanted to go off, and had to be told to do so, says everything.
A few late cry-offs meant we only had 17 players and finished with 13 on the pitch due to injury.
Once again the U17s who were capped for the Academy were excellent. Jim felt all were superb and fronted up in what was a very physical game. You all slotted well into the system.
Man of the Match was Simon Taylor, who tackled everything and provided midfield go-forward, closely followed by debutant Dan Holland who got around the pitch and made a difference in the hard work forward areas.
It was good to see the U18s give a round of applause to the U17s in the changing room afterwards. Just what the Academy is about.
Training on Tuesday:
6.15pm for U16 and U17
7.00pm for U18
OTHER NOTES
Academy - a heads up that we have games on the 7th and 14th December (LV Cup and HML). Showing on the HML site is an away game at Ldn Scottsh on the 30th November but it's not on our site so seeking clarification of that one...
